Death by Chocolate

If you want an easy crowd-pleasing dessert, this recipe is for you! My mom has been making Death by Chocolate for years! She passed the recipe on to me during college, and I’ve been making it ever since. Whenever my family takes this to a party, the bowl is almost always empty upon return. There have been occasions when it is so popular that my husband and I have missed out on having some. Recently, with all the craze in using Mason jars, I thought this would be the perfect dessert to layer in jars, great for a small dinner/birthday party.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of brownie mix
  • 3 boxes of instant fudge pudding
  • 2 cups of Heath Candy Bar bits
  • 1 (16 oz) Cool Whip

Directions:

1. Make the brownies as directed and cool. Make the pudding as directed and let sit.

2. Crumble the brownies into a bowl. In a large glass bowl or individual glass jars, layer brownies, pudding, Cool Whip, Heath bar pieces. Continue layering. (You will typically have between 2-3 layers of each ingredient; in both a large glass bowl or small glass jars.)
