‘Gourmet’ Your Tacos in 3 Minutes! (Works for any tacos)

Quesa Tacos are a simple way to turn ordinary tortillas into a gourmet taco in just three minutes! My husband and I were introduced to Quesa Tacos about six years ago at a taco stand near Ensenada, Mexico. They have the best “street tacos” we’ve ever tasted! I am excited to share this quick and easy way to give ANY taco recipe a little “gourmet kick”. This is a cooking technique that is becoming more and more popular across the country in Mexican restaurants.

Ingredients:

  • Tortillas
  • Cheese, sliced
  • Large Pan

Directions:

1. Lay slices of your favorite cheese on half of a tortilla, then fold closed. Cook on both sides on medium heat.

2. When the cheese is melted, open the tortilla and lay the open tortilla cheesy side down. (You will actually cook out some of the grease/fat in the cheese during this step!)

3. Fry the cheese until golden brown. Remove and allow to cool. (You may want to wipe the pan with a paper towel in between tacos.)

  3. Sounds really good, I will have to try it next time! Tacos and cheese are a favorite in my house…
    For taco’s I found this place in by the beach in Ventura, CA called Taco’s and Beer (guess what they served?) anyway, since going there, when I fry tortillas to make taco shells, I usually use garlic in the oil and then sprinkle parmesan cheese before they dry so it sticks. Sooo yummy.
