This past weekend we had rather ‘blah’ weekend, with dark clouds, cool breezes, and a few drizzles… the kind of weather that makes you want to curl up inside under a blanket. This weather is welcomed toward the beginning of Fall but soon young children are going stir-crazy indoors and soon… so are their parents! For this reason, I am so excited to introduce you to Kiwi Crate! Kiwi Crate is a monthly activity box subscription full of inspiration and creativity where your child will be encouraged to create, build, and design themed crafts/activities.Our family received a Kiwi Crate just. in. time. for a weekend of ‘blah’ weather! We spent our Sunday afternoon playing and crafting together as we sewed our own cloth vegetables, created a fruit stand basket, and designed a vegetable stand apron. It all culminated with our very own Produce Stand as Little Brother bought (yes, and technically stole) fruit from Big Brother- the Produce Stand owner. They exchanged paper coins, paper dollars, and even a paper credit card (when is the last time you used a credit card at a produce stand…) for those delicious cloth stuffed vegetables we sold. While the produce stand owner’s prices were a little outrageous, he seemed to accept any form of money for whatever vegetable we wanted! Such a relieve to Little Brother’s small budgeting skills!
We had an entire afternoon of fun playing and working together!
As a mom who really strives to encourage intentional play in our home, I was completely thrilled with the Kiwi Crate we received! Our boys learned a lot through their play: how to set up a ‘store’, how to ask for and receive something using money, the basic idea of making a purchase, and so much more. Another one of my favorite aspects of Kiwi Crate was that we actually used every piece of the kit for our Produce Stand; even the box was turned into a basket!
Another great aspect about Kiwi Crate is that the themed activities are actually created by families! Parents are the actual authors of the activities; they know from experience what works and doesn’t work with ages 3-7. They also have a great feel for what are age appropriate activities. All activities are also tested by kids!
So, you might say… sounds great, but I can’t imagine how much that costs… well here you go:
You can enjoy monthly projects that spark creativity and curiosity for kids ages 3-7. All materials and inspiration are included for just $19.95/month with FREE shipping. Perfect for a one-time gift or even for those Winter months that you need something extra to keep your little ones entertained! Or you can purchase a year subscription (12 boxes; once monthly) for $220 with FREE shipping. They also have ordering options for families:
| Single Crate to Share | We provide a generous amount of materials for one child – many of our projects, but not all, can accommodate two children. |
|---|---|
| Add Materials to a Crate | We include extra materials for a sibling to share the crate. Our customers call it the “no fight” crate. Only $7.95/month. |
| Order an Additional Crate | Each child can delight in opening their own package each month. |

My kids are both all about dressing as robots lately!
My little one still love to dress as princesses. It sure makes costumes easy!
A princess!!
My makeup and heels is a favorite costume! Also, princesses are big in our house!
My youngest was a *HUGE* fan of Thomas and all things train until he was around 6 years old- it’s all he ever wanted to dress up as for Halloween for several years in a row (which made Halloween super easy and cheap- it was awesome!). He’s now 8 and is all about Angry Birds!
My girls love being princesses.
He loves to dress up as a fireman
That’s awesome! My little guy too… he is obsessed with firefighters right now!
