Here is it, my first Silhouette project, and I am lovin’ it! I admit at first I was a little overwhelmed after reading all the directions and trying to wrap my mind around all the different ways to use my Cameo. I wondered how in the world I would ever pick a project to begin with. Well, I did and I couldn’t be happier!
I choose to make simple Nativity Candle Holders because I felt we needed a central decoration on our mantel of the ‘real’ meaning of Christmas. This time of year, it is so easy to get lost in the ribbon, glitter, Santa, and other fun holiday traditions/decorations that I wanted to add an intentional element to our decorations. Without actually planning to, we ended up even using them for our advent candles. However, there are only three, so I guess I’ll have to make another one… bummer!
Any thoughts of what I should include of the fourth? Angels?
Materials:
- Black vinyl paper
- Clear candle holders
- Candles
Directions:
1. Download the templates online from Silhouette Studio online.
2. Have them cut into your black vinyl.
3. Place them on your candle holders and smooth. You can add etching powder or even a frost over them if you a more frosted candle glow. {The ones pictures above do not have the frosted look.}
Simple, easy, fun!

Yay! You have a Cameo!!!
I can’t wait to see more projects from you. You are going to LOVE it. Love your candle holders.
Love it, great choice for your first project! I just got a CAMEO recently too (awesome Black Friday sale!) and the first thing I did with it, besides testing it and cutting a heart out of a Post-It, is make black vinyl labels for the ceramic jars in my kitchen. It turned out great and I’m super thrilled with it! I have a few other posts lined up for the next few weeks, but I’ll post about it at some point.
I. love. these. Pinning!!
