Saturday Show & Tell #26

It’s True…He’s Lost It!

My husband lost 8 1/2 pounds in just one week and is still going!

Why? We’ve decided that, as a family, we need to be more healthy in our eating habits. Since my husband and I have been really busy with the start of school and volleyball, we’ve been unable to begin a consistent exercise routine. We needed to change something that would allow us to be healthy, without adding one more thing into our busy schedule.  As a result, my husband has been following a healthy eating plan. I admit, that I have selfishly been worried about how this would ‘cramp’ my love of baking, but I’ve also been eating healthier along with him and have been adjusting some of our family’s favorite recipes lately. Check out how I changed our favorite Fall Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffin recipe to ‘skinnyify’ it! I plan to begin incorporating healthier choices into my recipes in the future, so stay tuned and we’d love to invite you to join us in cutting down the sugar and choosing healthier alternatives for ourselves and our family!

How? Are you interested in making healthier choices for your family, or even shedding some weight? Check out the post ‘My Husband’s Really Losing It!’ I have to admit it puts a smile on my face that he actually ok’d me to title my post that! :)

Have you been following our Fall Series: Play to Write-Write to Read?

My husband and I have been so excited at the Big Brother has been making lately, particularly in his fine motor skills. Through the activities we’ve been working on in the Play to Write Series and the Letter of the Week curriculum we’ve been practicing at home,  it is exciting to watch him really begin to improve! Others like Jess and her son have similar stories. I included the above picture to show how much better he is at holding a writing tool and tracing lines.  If you haven’t joined us yet, there’s still time! Just begin here!

Thank you to everyone who shared so many awesome ideas
