Taco Soup is an all-time favorite in our home! An easy recipe that is great for those cool days! Taco Soup has become one of those recipes friends and family ask for when they come and I occasionally get an email or text request for the recipe. Yes, it is THAT good!
My husband is also insistent that the ONLY way to eat this soup is not with a spoon, but with Frito Scoops. Our boys also prefer to eat it this way as well. So next time you come for a visit, know that when Taco Soup is served there is rarely a spoon on the table!
Ingredients:
- 1lb Ground Beef or Turkey
- 1 can Kidney Beans
- 1 can Pinto Beans
- 1 can Corn
- 2 cans Stewed Tomatoes ((Blended; if preferred) )
- 1 can Green Chilis ((small can for mild) )
- 2 cups Water
- 1 packet Taco Seasoning
- 1 packet Ranch Dressing Mix
- Shredded Cheese
- Frito Scoop Chips

Directions:
1. First, brown the meat in olive oil on the stove.
2. Combine all ingredients (except for cheese and chips) in the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
3. Serve in bowls with shredded cheese and Frito chips.

Looks easy and yummy!
This is one of our faves!! I always make it on Tuesdays because I have to do a crock pot dinner. Liam woke up yesterday asking if it was Taco Soup Tuesday.
Liz,

Mmmm, this sounds good. They make that here in Honduras all the time in restaurants. But this looks like it would be better. Thanks for sharing.
What ingredients do they use in Taco Soup in Honduras? I love recipes from around the world!
Yum! I bet my kids would love it.
I make taco soup but use stewed chicken, and black beans. The rest of the ingredients are the same. Very good and freezes great. I usually make a huge pot and freeze in quart freezer bags for later. Serve with tortilla chips, grated cheese and sour cream. YUMMY
Sounds delicious!
McKenzie,
I have a Taco Soup recipe, but it makes a much larger amount of soup. I live alone and I am so happy to get a recipe that suits my needs better. Thank you. I am a follower of Jesus also. HE is so good.
I have been asked to make taco soup for a couple of years now and just couldn’t find recipe I liked, till now that is. Thanking you in advance of making this.
I also have looking for the recipe for Jalapeño Cheese soup to no avail.I had it in Ellensburg, WA at a place called The Church. ( Was an old church) I’ve been experimenting for years and may be close. Any ideas?
Thank you, again!

Hi! I am including this in a slow cooker recipe collection here http://mommyssweetconfessions.blogspot.com/2012/12/34-slow-cooker-soups-stews-and-chilis.html
Do you drain the cans of beans and corn before adding?
Yes, I drain and rinse them all! I think it’s more of a preference though…
can this soup be made on top of stove ….or must it be made in crock-pot?
Either way! I’ve done it both ways and it’s awesome!
Enjoy!
