The Secret to Perfect Iced Coffee

During the summer, my husband and I love to make a big pitcher of iced coffee to keep in the refrigerator. It is the perfect afternoon treat on a hot day! However, our problem was that the ice would melt and water down our coffee… not good at all! This summer, we came up with the PERFECT solution…coffee cubes! Coffee Cubes are simply cubes of frozen coffee. Now, when our coffee cubes melt, our coffee doesn’t get watered down, but even stronger and more flavorful!

Coffee Cubes

          • Pour your favorite fresh pot of coffee into ice cube trays
          • Place in the freezer until completely frozen
          • Pop the cubes out and place in your glass of iced coffee

  1. I love iced coffee – I’m going to try this! Visiting from Swanky Stuff linkup :)

  2. I like to put about 1/3 cup of coffee into the freezer, and another full cup into the fridge. Then I take out the frozen coffee and pour the chilled coffee over it. Having a cup with coffee frozen at the bottom keeps things cold longer, because the larger chunk of frozen coffee won’t melt as soon as smaller coffee cubes.
I also like to add my cream and sweetener into the coffee before freezing it, this way, if you use those, the frozen coffee won’t make the rest bitter as it melts.

Thank you so very much! I look forward to trying this. Would you have advice for me how to make Mocha Iced Coffee? My only thought was to add chocolate syrup. I’d be grateful for you input. ~Blessings

    • Cordella- We occasionally make a Starbucks frozen mocha frappe in the summer as well and add a little chocolate syrup or a cocoa powder. Either should work fine! :)
