Valentine’s Children’s Book Bundle Giveaway

As parents, you and I both know that there is nothing quite as strong as our love for our children. In our family, my husband and I  have made it a point to impress on our boys how much we do love them, but that God loves them “the most”; even MORE than Mommy and Daddy! This week, you have the opportunity to win two fantastic books to read with your child to help impress on your children the unfailing love their Heavenly Father has for them; the source of real love.

I Love You to God in Back- A Bedtime Prayer Book

By Amanda Lamb

Show your precious little ones how much you love them . . . with every bedtime prayer.

Everyone loves a sweet bedtime story—and this one has the added bonus of teaching children a lifestyle of healthy prayer. Starting with sweet and silly text about bedtime routines—teeth brushing, story time, and one more glass of water—this delightful book will then teach children how to pray: love God, ask Him for forgiveness, thank Him for many blessings, and offer requests. Throughout the bedtime rituals, Mommy and Baby giggle as they play a game to describe how much they love each other. This unique story will make bedtime prayers a real learning and bonding experience for parents and children.

This complement to Amanda’s beautiful book for grown-ups is a perfect bedtime book for parents and children. (Read more & view a preview HERE.)

Our Family’s Experience:

“I love you to….” has been a recent bedtime game we’ve been playing with our boys for a few months now after reading the ever popular children’s book I Love You to the Moon and Back.” From the moment we received this book from Tommy Nelson, I couldn’t wait to read it to him. I decided not to tell him the title but rather just read it to him before bed. He immediately smiled when he heard the “I love you to…” line and loved that “I love you to God and back” was a line we had never used before! He loved the new twist! This is a sweet book that you can enjoy with your children as you tuck them in and read to them at night!

I Love You No Matter What- A Prince Chirpio Story

Written and Illustrated by J. Rutland

This sweet story offers a comforting message: a parent’s love is always there to come home to.

Prince Chirpio likes growing up as royalty, but his selfishness and thirst for adventure prompts him to leave the kingdom and fly off to where he can make his own rules. He soon discovers that adventures can be lonely, and he misses the love and protection of his father. Can he go back home? Will his father still love him? Luckily, his father the king is eager to welcome Chirpio back and to convince his young prince that he will always love him—no matter what.

Parents will appreciate that the story focuses on an important felt need: making sure their children know Mom and Dad will always love them. This fresh take on Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son will show young hearts that there’s no getting away from a parent’s love. (Read more & view a preview HERE.)

Our Family’s Experience:

I read this story to Big Brother this past week, and it sparked a very important conversation on how we (his parents) will always love him. We have read the story of the prodigal son to him from his children’s Bibles several times before, but this simple storybook version allowed him to better understand the idea that no matter what he does my husband and I will always love him. He is a very ‘pleasing child’ and asking frequently if we are “happy with him”. This story provided the perfect opening for me to share that even if we are not happy with a decision he makes, we will always love him.

The story does not explicitly tie this story to God’s unfailing love for us. Right now, Big Brother knows that his dad and I love him very much and a simple reminder that God loves him even more is just what he needs to begin to grow into the unfailing love of God.
